A moment that led to many more...

A journalist's power is his or her microphone. It feels so comfortable in my hand. As a broadcast journalist, I have a passion for conducting interviews and sharing stories. My special path was fated for me starting in December 2009 when I watched a man host a live radio feed in Marshfield, Massachusetts. Little did I know, he was the founder of WATD Radio 95.9FM, Mr. Ed Perry. Ed saw something in me that day and asked for me to interview some Christmas carolers. With no further direction and a smile, he passed me the mic. I conducted a wonderful, fluent, and informative live interview. More importantly, it forecasted a lifelong career as a reporter. My curiosity and interest in his ability to host a radio show cultivated an endearing moment and mentorship. Ed Perry offered me a job in December 2012 as a broadcast journalist for the station after I vigorously volunteered at his sister station, Talking Information Center where I read newspapers, magazines, books, and various papers on tape to people with vision impairment. I happily accepted. I am a self-started, self-taught, and self-guided dedicated reporter with a press pass. I am also a LA-based reporter for FabulousTV as well as a Communications Studies major at Loyola Marymount University. I cover a variety of events including developing news, entertainment, red carpets, music, sports, charities, award shows, concerts, festivals, shows, fundraisers, and more. I cover different press events through brief live interviews, as well as written and social media reviews. Some of my past interviews include Tom Hanks, Christina Applegate, Big Sean, Cody Simpson, the Executive Director of Teen Cancer America and two young cancer survivors, General Secretary of the Salvation Army, the judges and host of America's Got Talent and So You Think You Can Dance, as well as professional athletes such as boxer Shawn Porter and skater Tony Hawk. I interviewed at the 2016 Teen Choice Awards, TV Land Icon Awards, and Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Sports Awards. I want my story to empower people to pursue their dreams. My goal is to relate and connect people through my thoughtful and valuable interviews while sharing powerful, memorable stories. You're watching Maddy's Moments, and let this be your moment too!
